This Privacy Policy describes how TODD-AO handles information in Actors Mobile ADR™ (“AMA”) and on actorsmobileadr.com. It does not govern Apple, AirDrop, Mail, Files, iCloud, or any other destination you choose when you share.
1. AMA does not collect your content
AMA is an on-device ADR tool. There is no AMA account, no Todd-AO cloud, and no Todd-AO content library.
- Picture, guide track, takes, cues, and
.toddaopackages stay in the App’s sandbox on your device until you export or share them. - TODD-AO does not receive video or audio and does not store it on Todd-AO servers.
- The shipping App declares, in Apple’s privacy manifest, no tracking and no collected data types. That matches the App Store “Data Not Collected” posture used by professional on-device tools such as Blackmagic Camera.
- There is no Todd-AO analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK.
Apple may see App Store purchase receipts. Apple does not receive your picture or audio from AMA.
2. Device permissions
AMA requests:
- Microphone, to record takes. Audio is written to your device. It is not streamed to TODD-AO.
- Speech recognition, performed on your device, for cue and transcript tools. It is not sent to a Todd-AO or third-party speech server by AMA.
- Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode, only to release a cached encrypted-package unlock on this device. That check does not unlock the App, Editor Mode, or any video, and it is not synced to iCloud.
You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.
3. Encryption and unlock codes
Production .toddao packages use AES-256-GCM. The key is derived from the unlock code you or the sender choose.
TODD-AO has no master key, no escrow, and no back door. TODD-AO cannot decrypt a package, cannot recover a lost unlock code, and cannot produce Content it does not have.
Do not send unlock codes to support unless a production has authorised that disclosure.
4. Diagnostics
If you export an AMA diagnostics log, it records microphone and audio-route events. It does not contain recordings, cue text, file names, or account details. A diagnostics file leaves the device only if you share it.
5. When you share
If you AirDrop, Mail, save to Files, or send to iCloud Drive or a studio share target, that copy goes to the destination you chose. That service then handles it under its own terms. TODD-AO does not receive it.
Library media, recordings, and decrypted working copies are marked excluded from iCloud backup and stored with device file protection. Deleting the App deletes that local library. Copies you already shared remain wherever you sent them.
6. This website
actorsmobileadr.com is a static site. It does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. If you email support, we use the address and message you send to reply and to keep a support record.
7. Support correspondence

Do not send unreleased footage, unlock codes, or production material unless your production has authorised that disclosure.
8. Children
AMA is a professional production tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and TODD-AO does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your choices
- Manage microphone, speech, and Face ID permissions in iOS Settings.
- Remove local Content in the App or by deleting the App.
- Stop sharing by not using a share destination.
- Email support@todd-ao.com for a support-related privacy request.
TODD-AO cannot remotely wipe your device or revoke a package it does not hold.
10. Changes
TODD-AO may update this Privacy Policy when the App or applicable law changes. The version in force is the one published at https://actorsmobileadr.com/privacy/ on the date you install or update.
